What is Glutinous Rice ? 

Glutinous Rice Flour is also known as sweet rice flour or sweet rice powder, this flour is made from short-grain rice that becomes moist, firm and sticky when cooked, a result of its higher proportion of waxy starch molecules.

What is the composition of glutinous rice?

Glutinous rice grain contained 83.1% total starch, and the starch mainly consisted of amylopectin (98.2%). Rice grain also contained a large amount of protein (8.4%) and negligible amount of fat and ash.

Who Cannot eat glutinous rice?

Therefore, the elderly and children are often advised not to eat too much sticky rice or sticky rice. Especially children with acute illnesses (fever, cough,...), gastrointestinal diseases (eg, abdominal distension, jaundice, ...) or newly recovered children should not eat sticky rice.
